FamilyMade Tips for Hiring a New Babysitter 👩👧👦
❤️ Conduct a Thorough Interview/Do a Background Check If You Can
Although you may find yourself in a bind where you need a babysitter quickly, it’s important to find someone qualified and kind. Ask them about their experience, certifications and rate before inviting them over.
❤️ Offer a Trial Run
Before committing to a set routine, have them come over for a few hours while you’re home to allow your child to get used to seeing them. This is also a good time to observe how they interact with your child and get a feel for their personality.
❤️ Debrief After the First Few Sessions
After the first few times they babysit, chat about any challenges they may have experienced, any issues with your child and get a feel for how things went. This is a great time to address any issues and make positive changes.
❤️ Show Appreciation For Hard Work
A prompt payment, tip, gift, or thank-you note can go a long way in building a positive relationship with your babysitter. Praise their good work and give kind, constructive feedback where needed.
