Self-care for everyone

Plus: We’ve got some exciting news!

Hey there, you! So remember last week when we all collectively gawked at Nick Cannon starring in a show called “Who’s Having My Baby?” Turns out Cannon got us—hook, line, and sinker.

The viral bit was actually a gotcha promotion for Cannon and Kevin Hart’s new show, Celebrity Prank Wars. The show, which premieres April 6, will see celebs “planning and perpetrating some of the wildest and most viral pranks on each other.”

If this whole Nick Cannon thing is any indication? These pranks are about to be good.

1   And the Oscar Goes To…

Myung J. Chun / Los Angeles Times

Moms everywhere…or at least it should. We love the Oscars for so many reasons (glitz, glamor, etc.), but this year’s Academy Awards stood out for a reason near and dear to our hearts here at FamilyMade: because everyone and their mother thanked…their mother!

Everything Everywhere All at Once actors Michelle Yeoh, Ke Huy Quan, and Jamie Lee Curtis plus directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert all thanked their moms during their acceptance speeches for the night’s most prestigious awards.

Bonus Oscar content: Plenty of celebrities made it a family affair, from Best Actor winner Brendan Fraser to the iconic Selma Hayek to Top Gun star Jennifer Connelly and her lookalike son Stellan.

3   Breaking the “Almond Mom” Cycle?

Then this is for you. Maybe you’ve seen the trend of the “almond mom” on TikTok—the mom who eats a handful of unsalted nuts and steamed broccoli and calls it a meal? Plenty of millennials grew up with an almond mom, and the side effects of any disordered eating they might have seen are, at times, still present and accounted for.

So how do you break the cycle of the almond mom with your own kids when you’re still trying to get over negative body image yourself? This Slate Q&A has some helpful advice.

5   Where’s the Pot of Gold?

Friday is St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀 And while your little one probably still has a while before they can join you in the time-honored tradition of downing a green beer…they can still get in on the fun! Here’s a list of 17 St. Patty’s activities that are perfect for kids (and kids at heart).

 6   You Been “Toddlered”

We can’t stop laughing at this. The Instagram account Got Toddlered shares photos of parents before and after welcoming kids. And let’s just say—at least we’re all looking frazzled together, right?

Thank you so much for reading! It’s been a couple weeks since we debuted our new vibe. Got any feedback? Hit reply and let us know! We’d love to chat 🫶
