🍝 Do Family Dinners REALLY Matter? + Our Tips for Togetherness!

Is life feeling really busy lately? We get it! Let us help you make the most of your family time...

Eating as a Family-Does it REALLY matter? 🍝

In short, it absolutely does.

Family therapist, Anne Fishel, says that despite family meal time being hugely beneficial for kids, only about 30% of families regularly eat dinner together.

But did you also know… There’s over 20 years of research that shows family dinners are great for:

  1. Physical and mental health

  2. Improved academic performance

  3. Cardiovascular health benefits

  4. Lower rates of anxiety and depression

  5. Lower rates of substance and tobacco use

  6. Higher rates of self esteem and resilience

AND, 80% of teenagers say that family dinner is the time of the day they're most likely to talk to their parents. 80%! That’s huge!! (Source, Family Dinner Project)

“Sometimes it can be hard to find time to cook a meal and sit around the table BUT, family dinners are so important to us and worth the extra effort! We try to be really intentional with this. Some nights family dinner looks like a home cooked meal and great conversation and other nights it looks like a quick 10 minute sit down with a frozen pizza or takeout. Don’t put so much pressure on it, just being together is the most important part!”
